I started my career as a journalist and spent four years running from town council meetings and environmental zoning hearings to Little League baseball games and the PTO annual fundraiser. Life on the beach kept me pretty busy.
While keeping my community informed was thrilling, I realized my true passion: finding causes I believe in that need the help of a lens or a well-crafted message to bring attention to them. That has led me into the world of advocacy in nonprofit work.
I am a graduate from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Originally a photojournalism student, I designed my own interest area which combined print and digital news reporting and photojournalism.
I grew up in a farming town in a quiet, peaceful corner of Missouri. Besides photography and writing, I like a good paddle in a river, a starry sky above a tent, and spending time with my rescue animals.
